The genesis of this wall sculpture was an email from a client who lives near the ocean and is really into tropical fish. Usually we go a little wild with our creatures, giving them impossible eyes, bodies, appendages. This one is a little more realistic and has a nice tranquil feel.
What we've done is taken panels of high-tech acrylic... they're bulletproof, almost literally, and we color, stain, paint, and patina them on the reverse side with metallic oxides, iridescent paints, and sophisticated stains. The bottom of these fountains is a hand-made copper reservoir that is hand-patinaed with heat. The backside of the acrylic panel is painted and then sealed. The water flows down the front and consequently never comes in contact with the painted image. The sound of the water is magnificent! It's really a visual show of the first degree. In all of our water fountains, a standard 110v outlet is required for the quiet, long-lasting, powerful, adjustable-flow water pump that is included. All of our water fountains are re-circulating and do not need an outside water source.
Back lighting is available on these water fountains....though the wall fountains look great without them. This is a randomly positioned string of high-tech lights that create the illusion of stars. Each light is literally the size of a grain of rice and they put out virtually no heat. These lights are super long life...5000 hours plus and they give the fountain an incredible depth. If you entertain at night...this one is dynamite with the backlighting!
